A man in Colorado, is devastated after his bride died while on their honeymoon vacation.

Chaffee County police said that 31-year-old Kathleen Bartlett, was killed just 6 days after getting married to 32-year-old Ryan Pocius, while vacationing on Mount Yale.

According to the police investigation, around 1:15 p.m., the two were about 12,400 feet up the mountain when they were hit by lighting.

Tourists at the scene had to walk an hour to get service for their cellphones in order to call the police. It took rescuers until 5:00 p.m., to get to the injured couple.

The bride was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other hikers suffered minor injuries.
