Who and what defines you in the summer of 2015? Are you just taking every day as it comes your way with no real direction? Do you ever wonder why some other people are successful and you are not? It takes vision and a plan that you can set in motion. It is time to start re-thinking how you are using your God-given special gifts. Yes, you have them but you have been drifting. It is high time you take advantage of what you were given and then start a plan of action.
Earl Nightingale said "You become what you think about". What are you thinking about? It is time to use your gift and re-direct your vision to productivity. If you don't do that, no one is going to do it for you.
Nightingale believed that to be really successful, you needed to plant your goals in your mind. What we plant, then can be harvested and returned to us in the form of success or failure. With this in mind, be sure to plant some realistic goals. Have the determination and drive to bring those possible and positive goals to the finish line. It will take a lot of work but it will be worth it in the long run.
Embark on a search for knowledge. Get off the computer and go to the library where it is quiet and less distractive. Read about successful people and how they did things to reach their goals. Start being influenced by the right sources and successful people. Change your environment and make a fresh start.
Napoleon Hill had lived in poverty but went on to be a highly successful individual. He wrote "Think and Grow Rich". "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve" he said. See how Nightingale was influenced by Napoleon Hill. Well he in turn was influenced by Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie believed that the process of success could be elaborated in a simple formula that could be duplicated by the average person.
Since he was impressed by the younger Hill, he commissioned him to interview many successful business men to discover and publish such a formula. Do and think how successful people think. Take the special gifts and use them effectively utilizing the wisdom of past successful people. Carnegie had a plan and goal and was incredibly successful in the steel industry.
Inspiration can come from past figures or from current motivational speakers such as Anthony Robbins. Put one of his recordings on at bedtime and be inspired by him as you aspire to greatness. You don't need to re-invent the wheel. It is already available. There is much you can learn from those who have climbed the ladder of success already. Today, you can also find a mentor who is willing to share some acquired knowledge.
Now is the time to start being productive. Change your direction with a good attitude. Get on the right path. Set some goals and make it happen by taking advantage of your special gift or gifts. Just think about what you possess that is different than anyone else in the world.
John utilizes his 30 years working in a diverse selection of jobs from Electronics, Inventory, Operations, Manufacturing, Restaurant & Bar ownership to a more recent nine years of overseas military and embassy contract work. Presently I am newly retired and trying to keep busy. I'm doing some writing, reading and working on a church website at (http://www.gracemethodistbangor.org) in addition to spending time with family. Some of the previous articles stress that a good attitude is everything and defines us. Our attitude gives us opportunities that we might not receive otherwise. A current article investigates the need for a graceful attitude in our lives. - John.

The mighty subconscious mind has held mysteries and intrigue for mankind since the beginning of time.
As you probably are aware, our mind is split into sections, for the purpose of this article we will discuss the conscious and the subconscious.
The role of the conscious mind is to filter instructions received daily into the subconscious mind, the subconscious mind receives these messages and acts upon them.
For ease of writing I will refer to the subconscious as SC from herein.
The SC is a powerhouse of information, it also accepts information it receives in a slightly different manner than that of the conscious mind.
The conscious mind rationalizes and ponders, whereas the SC just accepts what it is given. As you can imagine because of this childlike quality of naive acceptance, it is important that the messages given to the SC are filtered and only quality information relayed for action.
That is one of the main powers of the SC, it actions whatever is put into its vaults. If as a child you were given negative messages, constant ridicule, no encouragement, then the SC unfortunately will have become conditioned for your life to follow this route.
It is the repetitive nature of the conditioning as a child that sets in place either a positive or negative life for the individual. The key here is to note that repetition works for the SC mind. If negative affirmations are repeated often enough i.e. "You will never amount to anything in life" then the SC takes this information, believes it and manifests this negative message into your life.
There is a solution to this dilemma and that is because of the role that repetition plays in the reprogramming of the SC mind. If negatives can be repeated, then so can positives.
Once I decided in my own life that I was tired of negative events and the route I was taking and began replacing outmoded ideas with positive affirmations then my life began to change.
The SC likes repetition, whatever you repeat will manifest itself, this takes work and concentration on what you want. What messages do you want to delete that you have been living by?
Most people do not realize how powerful the SC mind is and through understanding this power you can quit smoking, or lose weight, I certainly use this method for maintaining my ideal weight, and have done for several years. The message I relay to my SC mind is that 'I never put weight on', or 'my weight is constant'. It works for me.
Is it really that simple? Well yes it is, however we fail to understand how the SC mind likes to follow simple repetitive instructions and the difficult work involved in remembering to monitor our thinking.
The one problem that can and does occur is when a person tries to alter outmoded ways of thinking without realizing that the new messages need to be delivered via the conscious mind in a certain way.
The conscious mind is more argumentative and makes decisions for you based on knowledge gained throughout your life, this is not always a good thing.
Hypnosis is one of the ways to divert the attention of the conscious mind to enable new messages to be delivered to the SC mind without interference, however there is another tried and trusted method that I use on myself and that is through subliminal messaging.
Subliminal messaging works while you are asleep, the conscious mind sleeps, the SC mind does not, so this is the ideal time to create new thought patterns, the messages are sent directly to the SC mind, repeated during sleep and accepted more readily without the conscious mind arguing with the new affirmations.
Most people are reticent of subliminal messaging, I was until I studied hypnosis and witnessed first hand the effect they have on my own outlook on life and health. My only regret is that I did not discover this method earlier, life would have been far simpler and I would have experienced less pain.
Joan Harrison is a highly qualified therapist/hypnotherapist, her blog http://www.thinkgrowlive.com provides tools to access the subconscious mind and enables people to change their outdated thinking patterns forever. The presence of leadership and motivation in the workplace leads to a major increase in productivity of your workers. At any given time, workers aren't giving 100% of what they're capable of. Even a 5-10% increase in productivity across the board would result in huge profit increases.
Though good natural leaders can be hard to come by, training is available to help develop the traits present in those in leadership positions. The presence of someone who knows not only what is going on at any given time, but who can track what needs to be done next, influences those around them to follow suit.
Of course, there's also the aspect of feeling watched. Humans, by nature, will feel the need to work harder and more efficiently when under supervision from a person they consider to be an authority figure. If the authority figure can lend direction to their projects as well, an increase in productivity is guaranteed almost 100% of the time.
It's important as well to ensure open and honest communication between team leaders and those under their direct and indirect supervision. Employees should feel as though they an approach their superiors with questions without fear of judgement or repercussion. If your workers feel that they know what they're doing in regards to specifics on a given assignment, they will gain confidence in their abilities and the work they produce. This reduces the opportunity and odds of mistakes and increases efficiency for the company as a whole.
The ability for superiors to voice the next steps in the project is also essential. Leadership training can help establish proper ways of communicating assignments to ensure clarity in guidelines. Open communication is the best way you can boost company output. Leaving no stone unturned diminishes the odds of failure and error.
Unmotivated employees are unproductive employees. There are many ways you can help to motivate your staff depending on the results you'd like to see. Positive reinforcement has been proven to be more beneficial to motivation than fear for a number of reasons, the most important of which is trust. An employee who fears for their job will put in just enough effort to not get fired, but an employee who feels they are secure in their job and who has the possibility of reward for good work will put in the extra time to make sure projects are done properly.
If timeliness is the factor you'd like to stress the most to employees, adding an early or on time bonus for completed work will motivate them to schedule their time properly to ensure completion. Similarly, if error-free work is required, competitions for the best client review or least time spent correcting their work will motivate them to not only finish the project with no errors, but to do it to the best of their ability, resulting in better quality work. Naturally, a combination of these rewards will result in not only timely, but high quality output.
Leadership and motivation are essential to the productivity and quality of work produced by a company. Open communication chains and the possibility of a bonus for fast or good work will help to ensure both efficiency and higher productivity. These tactics will result in a bigger return for the company as a whole, benefitting all involved.

The PAIN you feel today is the STRENGTH you feel tomorrow. For every challenge encountered there is opportunity for growth.

Sometimes, we need to be hurt in order to grow. We must lose in order to gain. Sometimes, lessons are learned best through pain.

The world is full of pain but HOPE will always keep you going.

Your tears are just TEMPORARY release of the pain, sorrow and grief; but don't you worry because God will wipe EVERY tear away.

Where there is pain, there will be strength. Where there is sadness, there will be wisdom. And where there is fear, there will be renewal. Having a good friend is the best certainty in life. If we listen we learn from each other.

Lesson without pain is meaningless, but once you've withstood and overcome it, you will gain a heart that is stronger than everything else.

Someday everything will all make perfect sense. So for now laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.

The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow. For every challenge encountered there is opportunity for growth.

Love is a painful game, your heart will get broken, stomped, crushed and shattered before you find the one person that can put it all back together again.
STRENGTH MESSAGES AND QUOTES

Being strong also means admitting when you are wrong.

Be strong when you are weak, brave when you are scared, and humble when you are victorious.

The heart that has a firm faith is not frightened by challenges because it knows well that God's love does not abandon those who trust in Him.
Love is strengthened by loving the unlovable. Helping someone with no thanks in return; caring for the person who does not care for you; giving up what you want for the benefit of someone with an attitude; are the best ways to make love grow and the best way to influence those who do not love. It's what God does all the time.

Cecile Springer:
Above all challenge yourself. You may well surprise yourself at what strengths you have, what you can accomplish.

Helen Keller
Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.

Thomas Paine
The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection.

BIBLE VERSES ON STRENGTH

Isaiah 40:28-31
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint,   and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;   they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you;  be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you,  I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the LORD and his strength;  seek his presence continually!

Exodus 15:2
The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Psalm 18:32-34
The God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer  and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

Life lessons are classes you cannot afford to fail. The lessons of life should not be ignored. Life chose us, we did not choose it. What you learn in life will determine your faith. If you ignore what life teaches you, you are bound to repeat the lesson again. Many of us have experienced traumas by repeating the same mistakes over and over again. Life offers no apologies or gives any passes. What you put in is what you get. The key to succeeding with those lessons is to pay close attention to what life is offering you. The lessons come in many forms. You can learn from observing failures/successes of others and from your own personal experiences. The lessons are there to guide you. When you practice to just get by you will find yourself falling behind. To do just enough to just get by puts limitations on your life. When you put forth the extra effort, you gain the clarity and insight to succeed. That extra effort imparts the knowledge that you can accomplish anything in life if you stick with it. To accomplish anything you put your mind to, requires knowledge. With knowledge you gain wisdom. Wisdom is a key ingredient to sustaining and moving forward in life. Without wisdom, the odds of failure are greatly increased.
As we move forward, we take from our past experiences, lessons that provide us positive energy. The knowledge gained from those constant lessons mark the footprints of past failures and successes. We gain a considerable amount of knowledge from both. How we use this knowledge is an excellent measurement as to how much wisdom we have gained. Life is continuous, never stopping and never reversing. What we take from the past must fuel us for the future. The quality of your future is dependent on how you apply the wisdom that you now, have knowledge of. Your character reflects what you have learned in life and how you apply that knowledge. Character is important, because it's what you are, even when no one is looking. It reflects your beliefs and your values. Your beliefs and values can be attributed to what you have experienced and learned throughout your life. When the focus has been sharpened by constantly applying the principles and values learned throughout your life, you shorten the amount of time it takes to reach your goals. This does not suggest that there are shortcuts. Hard work, dedication, drive, tenacity and intelligence will all need to play their part.
The simpler things are the more complex they seem to be. It is impossible to ignore some of the tragedies that life has brought without warnings, planning or prior consequences. We never saw these things coming. These types of incidents in our lives will test our faith, beliefs and strength. They also help to build character. Steel sharpens steel. Every incident, every heartache, every loss adds to the fibers of you. They contribute to your direction, your focus and allow you to gain strength through experience. You gain the fortitude to continue to move forward, regardless of the adversity. Every gain, every move has a purpose. Because of the attention that you paid to the lessons taught you so far, the better you are able to empower your destiny. To master how you control your feelings and actions, allows you to master your destiny.
